Blending in

I used to know my local lizards, but now I'm not so sure. I think this is one of the fence lizards, as opposed to the alligator lizards. ALs have smoother scales and longer noses. But then FLs typically show some blue on their bellies, and I don't see any blue here. But then, I didn't flip this lizard over, just took the photo and let it skitter away. You can kind of sense the heat in this shot, which was taken in a grassy, sunny area at the top of the creekbank.
