Blue Rock Thrush
This guy flew onto the scene when I was doing wide-angle shots of Katsuren Castle in Okinawa. Glad I had the 18-250mm lens mounted on a tripod ! Around here it's rare to catch a shot of one of these in a tree with a nice background.
Habitat
Suburbs, brush along shores
Location
Katsuren Castle Okinawa, Japan
Date taken
1MAR2009
Scientific name
Monticola solitarius
Equipment used
Pentax K10D 18-250mm Manfrotto 725B
Good composition. The bird stays nicely against the blurry background.
