Blue-winged Mountain-Tanager (Anisognathus somptuosus)

A feeder picture, but such a spectacular bird I couldn't resist posting it. The Mountain Tanagers are some of the most colorful birds to be found in the equatorial regions, and fortunately there are quite a number of species, and many are fairly common.

A very striking color bird. As it came to feeder, I am sure you had a good time looking at it.

WOW and re-WOW!!! What a fantastic looking bird and what a gorgeous picture of it!!! Love the head pose with the slightly open bill! The feeder is not so bad here... the fruits match the bird colours! ;) Superb, Gary, a gift for the eyes!!! :t: :t: :loveme:
