I've had people ask me how I manage in the dark of Winter. Well, yes, it's darker than Summer, we do tend to sleep more in Winter than in Summer, and I've probably reached my northernmost limit when it comes to how little light I can manage on, but the skies don't go suddenly black when the sun goes down after peeking above the horizon for a few hours. Instead we get a long, blue dusk and again a long, blue dawn, with deep velvety blue nights and pale blue days between those two. The shades of blue are actually quite fascinating. There've been artists who've spent whole Winters on Svalbard, waaaayyyy up North, just to study all those shades of blue.
OK. Enough geography lesson. I'm off to bed. I'll catch up on browsing in between rounds of cake baking tomorrow. Big birthday bash coming up on Sunday.
