Bobcat mom being protective of her cubs (Lynx rufus)

She was stopped in an opening in the brush and trees, looking my way to make sure I was not a threat, while her three growing cubs all walked past behind her. You can still see one's back and tail passing by to her right.

Good for her and a great image Zack!

As a kid spending my summers in the Catskills I'd see a few of these from time to time.

Excellent capture of this bobcat, Zack. We have them on our property in south-central Texas, but I've only once seen a female with 2 large kittens!
