Post Oak Savannah vegetational area. Open post oak woodland at ca. 355 ft elevation.
Location
Lake Bryan, northwest of Bryan, Brazos County, Texas, USA.

A great closeup of this Mushroom Stanley. Now seeing that it seems to have red/orange pores is this the poisonous variety? You can answer me here and I'll check back. ;)

This is an edible species. This species has pores on the undersurface of the cap for spore dispersal opposed to gills. Stanley

That looks like a 'meaty' species, doesn't it. Sometimes I really wish I liked mushrooms (love the smell of them cooking LOL but not the taste!)
