Bonaparte's Gull Juvenile (Larus philadelphia)

I was on an elevated river bank watching for brown bears when this gull made several passes across the river below me. These are fairly common birds in the USA but I was told by a local forest ranger they are very rare in this part of Alaska.

A most unusual flight angle to catch with him coming straight at you like that Donald.

I agree with Delia, this is a most unusual flight angle. Well done, I've taken lots of photos of these gulls and haven't ever gotten one at this angle. It's a beauty.

Excellent in flight picture of this gull Donald. Great camera angle with it coming at you and below you. Outstanding!!!!
