Boreal Owl

Finally I have presentable pictures of all 11 Owl species, nesting in Ontario. I had pictures of this Owl before many times but always clutterd, no clean view. I had to drive north to Ottawa to get this picture, but it was worth it. I drove back in a snow storm next day but hey, I got the bird. I almost forgot to mention; it sits on a vole, the tale is sticking out as you might see it. This is what they do if the capture more than they can eat, to keep them from freezing.
Habitat
Field with trees
Location
Kanata, (Suburb of Ottawa)
Date taken
2009-01-26
Equipment used
Canon 50D Canon 300 f2.8 L IS
A really good capture. Its body is almost spherical, the best shape for keping warm.

Congratulations Karl! that is quite an accomplishment. This is a brilliant image of this lovely bird, thanks for sharng.
