Enjoy the clip and its unique calls. The Bornean Black Magpie (Platysmurus aterrimus), aka Black Crested Magpie 黑冠喜鵲. It was previously thought to be a subspecies of the Black Magpie, but recent revisions determined that it is the full species Platysmurus aterrimus. It is endemic to Borneo. It is frequently found in lowland forest.

Perhaps they're 'magpies', but, to me, they look and sound like crows. Great video with a beautiful, otherwordly soundscape in the background. Worth watching if only to see the way one of the magpies jumps down from the tree! Hope it's alive and well, lol.

Wait 'til you hear Slender-billed Crow calls, a very unique kind of crow calls :LOL: Will try see if able to film them next time. Somehow, that morning that tree were very popular. Back and forth, fly-in, fly-out not just these magpies but also one male Wallace's Hawk-Eagle.
