Bower
One of our targets for the Bird Billabong walk was the Great Bowerbird ... and after a long walk in weather that was really too hot for me ... there it was. Actually, I'd turned back to find a discreet spot in the woods for a "restroom" break. After that I thought I'd just head back to the van but someone came running up to tell me they'd found the Bowerbird, so I turned back. When we met the others, who were then on their way to the van, the guide doubled back with me to show me the Bowerbird. I, meanwhile (on my way to the woods), was the only one in the group to see the Diamond Doves, but I didn't get a good shot of those. I told everybody where I'd seen them, but they were gone by the time we got back there. Didn't really get a good shot of the Bowerbird either, but I did get some fairly good shots of his bower (taken with my cell phone). Since a bower is not a nest, I thought it would be ok to share two of them here.
