Breeding time
I came across three Striated Pardalotes flirting while walking the dogs on the beach. They are usually shy but stayed in a tree calling while some young children were swinging from a rope in the same tree. I soon seen why as soon as the children left the "successful" male showed his bride the burrow he'd prepared in the sand dune right under the tree. The "grit" on his face are grands of sand.

A splendid shot Norm, great work!

Poor little fellow, he must have thought he was about to lose his nest, after all that work! Let's hope the close proximity of humans doesn't disturb them as they nest.

Nice shot. It has lovely colouring. It is an unusual pose, perhaps it is disturbed by all the people near its nest.
