South Texas Plains vegetation area, floodplain of the Rio Grande, open area with lakes in Tamaulipan thornscrub riparian at 28 m (92 ft) elevation.
Location
Santa Ana National Wildlife Refuge, south of Alamo, Hidalgo County, Texas, USA.

A Cowbird I'll never see, lucky you. Extraordinary photograph of this species Stanley, those red eyes and iridescence make this a striking bird indeed!
