Brown Creeper
With spring approaching I fully expect these birds could disappear from my yard any time now, so any time I see one I grab some shots of it. This one was mooching around down on the ground. I've seen them occasionally do this under a feeder. But there is no feeder in this location. Nonetheless it found something, because I could see that it was nibbling something here and there. Too cold for insects so maybe dropped food from other birds? This patch of yard is right under a large tree.

A beautiful shot Bill. Interesting to see a bird like this on the ground: as you say, it must have found some morsel to eat.

Well there must be something of interest down there Bill LOL, if not insects then I guess it must be seeds, possibly fallen from the tree or blown in.

That's a super picture my friend. Well done laddie.

A very interesting behaviour shot, Bill! We had a Treecreeper under our feeders the other day and it was eating spilled fragments of my wife's bird cake, made from coconut fat and mixed seeds. The woodpeckers tend to leave a lot of spillage. 😉
