BROWN-HEADED COWBIRD-----I BELIEVE (Molothrus ater)

Okay please correct me if I am wrong but according to my Nevada Birds Pocket Guide and another site I believe this is a BROWN HEADED COWBIRD.

A super picture that Dave - I love the pose too.

Don't think it's a B-h Cowbird though, the bill looks too long and the eyes are white, where they should be dark.

If no-one comes in soon to help you, you'd be better to try the [COLOR="Blue"]ID forum[/COLOR] - they'll nail it in minutes!!
 
Thanks D I went a head and put it on the ID Forum. The Common Grackle is not known at all to be in this area but you are right it is very close to the Grackle.

A beautiful image Dave but I too am leaning towards a Grackle type bird.
 
I know I'm late to the party, but I happened to be searching the gallery for brown-headed cowbird photos, and this came up. It's not a brown-headed cowbird, it's a female great-tailed grackle.
