Brown Treecreeper (a newbie for me!) (Climacteris picumnus)

Another Newbie for me!! Took this pix in the Barmah-Millewa forest while waiting for my ride. It was not an easy shoot ..the 5D doesn't have a built in flash and I didn't have my external unit with me. To top it off these birds seem to mainly favor the shadowed areas. They are also very closely color-related to the bark of trees and I found them difficult to spot as they moved around.
Habitat
riverine woodland
Location
Barmah, Vic
Scientific name
Climacteris picumnus
Equipment used
5D + 100-400IS
Yes Broc,I agree with you that it's not so easy to take a decent shot of the treecreeper as I experienced it during my Thailand trip in January of this year. This is a real brilliant shot, the bird is very well camouflage, well done.

Congrats on the newbie, it's a new one for me. Despite the limitations of "no flash" it is an excellent shot.

Great shot Richard! Beautifully taken!
I was lucky enough to find one last week, a newbie for me, but not nearly as good as yours! Thanks for sharing!

Thanks all for leaving a word of encouragement! Cheers...and Nora, tis good to see yer again!

Yes - I tend to hear them first and they don't stay still! Well captured.
