Buff-breasted Paradise-Kingfisher
This Buff-breasted-Paradise-Kingfisher is flying after perching on a vine just above the forest floor.
Habitat
Tropical Rainforest
Location
Julatten/Far North Queensland
Date taken
1988
Scientific name
Tanysiptera sylvia
Equipment used
Hasselblad with 250mm lens/MultiblitzIIIB with three flash heads at 1/5000sec.
A beautiful image and an incredible technical achievement by any standard -- having pulled it off on slide(?) film makes it all the more impressive. I really admire your work, Hans and Judy. To really get these web versions of your scans to shine, I would suggest trying out the free download of Neatimage -- it will make short work of those minor scanning artifacts.

That's a superb flight shot Hans and Judy. I've added it to the Opus article.
