Buzzed (Buteo buteo)

... well, not really. He was just circling to find some rising air, I think. And luckily for me, he was circling slowly. My panasonic isn't fast with the focus, and I wasn't carrying the D90 on the walk. I can fit both cameras in my new backpack, though, so I will take both with me on the trip to the Donau delta in a few weeks.

I like this very much and the focus us excellent. These cameras and lens do weigh a ton.... Have just got a trolley which makes life much easier:t:;)

Taking both cameras won't work, Ann... you'll have the wrong one in your hand when it matters ;) You did well with this one though

I've had bald eagles and red shouldered hawks circling around here from time to time, and have the same problem with my Fuji. It's very difficult to make it focus on a bird at distance against the sky. You did a great job here, it's a wonderful shot, well done!

A great job you've done with this Ann.. birds in the sky are a nightmare with these little cameras. What I try and do (when I've got time) is to focus on something at a distance... tree or whatever, then find the bird in the sky and ... well... hope!! LOL

Chris is right... you'll have the wrong camera in your hand... or the wrong lens;)

A super inflight capture of this buzzard in a species typical thermal climb. Great behaviour image. Tfs.
