Carolina Wren (Thryothorus ludovicianus)

These are such wonderful active little birds just packed with personality. You can hear them quite a ways off coming into the feeders, in fact they have one of the loudest songs per volume of bird. When perched but not quite resting they do this little dip thing that cracks me up. I only have the one bird coming into the feeders this year and not the pair I had last winter. It doesn't show up as often either. I'm always happy to see this bird as it leaves me laughing.

Wonderfully timed to catch him on the tree like this, Deanne! The detail is top class as usual, but additionally the markings on this bird are stunning, with lovely colors to boot!
