Going back to doing the trip in chronological order here. Aug 22 I had the morning in Cismigiu Park, then back out to the airport to meet the group for the drive to Zarnesti. Aug 23 we had three stops in the Carpathians near Zarnesti. First a stroll up a hill for some field birds feasting on grasshoppers, some woodland birds, and some explanations about farming practices. Then back to the guest house for lunch. Afternoon trip to some fields along a stream below another hill, then bus up that hill to watch bears. Here's a view of the type of landscape we would be visiting that day and the next.
