Carrion Crow
I love corvids, but I find them tricky to photograph. Although common enough, they're quite bright and seem to sense when a human is paying them attention. Today we found a spot where walkers feed the ducks on a local reserve, the crows and some magpies were pretty much oblivious to our presence competing for the food and I had great fun shooting them.

Lovely light and spot on sharpness to the head

A nice change to see some of the everyday birds such as this in the gallery

I remember several years ago being in southern Ireland. We had the opportunity to be taken around by a very experienced bird guide who wanted to show us all kind of treasures. The light was stunning and we stopped on some grassland by the coast where we spent half an hour photographing rooks! They looked stunning in the light. The guide stood and scratched his head in puzzlement, It was the first time anyone had wanted to photograph a mere crow lol but hey what the heck, to me any bird is beautiful in the right light and when they are being accommodating. I love crows and yours is a real beauty. The light shows his subtle colours and plumage details brilliantly. Excellent photo, well done :t:
