Carrion Crow

Carrion Crow (Corvus corone)

This bird had been having a good preen and seems thoroughly satisfied with the result (can a crow look "smug"?).

I'm way behind on my browsing and will have missed loads of great pictures - looking forward to seeing some of them now.

Thank you for your kind comments on my pictures, and good birding!

LOL of all birds, CCs are the mostly likely ones to look 'smug' I'd have thought John. Has been been bathing, he appears to be a bit ummm damp?

A super picture you've taken of him, with some great feather detail too - very well done my friend.

Marvelous shot of this lovely Carrion Crow preening. Excellent exposure with excellent focus and dof. Top-marks John!

Looks like he had a bath before preening ...? And I agree, he does look quite pleased with himself. "Smug" fits. ;)
