I specified the direction because I saw very possibly this same bird flying the opposite direction about 24 minutes later carrying what looked like about a 6 to 7 inch (15 to 18 cm) fish. I would have much preferred to share that photo but it's even worse than this one (please bear with this novice photographer who just had to send his best lens back to be repaired or replaced).
I have a photo taken about 24 minutes later of very possibly the same bird flying opposite direction with a fish. It's less distinct (farther away) but obviously a Caspian tern and definitely carrying a fish. Should I show you? I guess I could post it.
