Cattle Egret in breeding colors (Bubulcus ibis)

Nearly a year-round resident here, leaving only in the hottest months of Summer. This chap posed nice for me in his finest breeding plumage. I like the bright orange bill and the lavendar lores. Common as dirt here but still beautiful birds.

Good capture of this beauty, Dan :t: ! Interesting. I wonder if some of yours head my way. Ours thin out in the winter quite a bit but increase in mid summer.
