Chaffinch by Adam Riley
Although it is widespread and can be found breeding through much of Europe, across Asia to Siberia and in northwest Africa, the Chaffinch or Common Chaffinch is a charming and captivating bird. Its gorgeous patterning, which is more obvious in flight, helps to camouflage this little bird while it is foraging on the ground for insects and seeds. This winsome individual was captured by Adam Riley in Bulgaria.
