The river bank where I photographed this bird was exploding with tall grasses laden with seed and the small flock were springing from stem to stem enjoying the feed. These birds are usually quite shy but fortunately for me I had good cover with the long grasses and managed a few frames before I was spotted. I think these are stunning birds with their striking feather markings and long blue feet. I quite like the tiny lady bird beetle in flight at the bottom left corner of the frame (I almost cropped him out).
Hi, you kindly provided some advice on the quality of a Brown Thornbill picture I uploaded a few minutes ago. Thanks for the comment. I've reloaded the shot at a different compression setting and hope this elliminates the pixellation. You can tell I'm new to this.
