Chickadee Nesting Material? (Poecile atricapillus)

I was tearing off old siding on a shed in my yard. There was huge amounts of spider silk beneath, the kind they put around their egg masses. This chickadee zoomed right in and kept grabbing bunches of it. I wondered if it was looking for the spider eggs, but all the spider silk I saw was empty. I thought maybe it was using it to line its nest.
