Chinese Bamboo Partridge
It's been several years since I've seen this species of bird. Last time was fleeting glimpses as they dashed across the road in the wee hours of a misty morning. Such great views this time, it will be hard to out do!
These birds are not native to Japan but an introduced species (albeit some 100 years ago) they have become established throughout most of Japan from central Honshu & southwards.
