Christmas treats 1 (Columba palumbus)

Not sure if this is going to upload correctly. I resized to be sure I was within the size limit, but the upload still isn't showing any thumbnail. Still ... I'll give it a go. In case this does upload: One Xmas tradition here in Norway is that at harvest time farmers put aside sheaves of oats that are then hung up as Xmas bird treats. Of course, with sunflower seeds on offer these days, many bird species turn up their noses at mere oats. But the wood pigeons do love 'em.

We put up 2 sheaves in the garden this year but they.ve been largely ignored except for a few Great tits. There was a Yellowhammer under one this morning though.

What a lovely tradition!!!

However, it actually looks like this pigeon finds it a comfy bed LOL.

Re the sizes: the Gallery software can cope with larger images, it's the bit that produces the thumbnail it struggles with... to be on the safe side the picture should not measure more than 4000 px on the longest side (most people, however, seem to go for something in the 1-2 thousand px). It seems you may have re-sized your thumbnail (but not the image) as it's showing perfectly.
