Cloudy Day Heron (Ardea herodias)

The sun was in and out today...mostly out. I was trying to catch this fellow on the ground. Then it took off so flight shots. Of course I was not prepared didn't have fill flash, didn't have constant focus on....thats me not prepared. Oh well got one
fairly desent shot out of the bunch. Shot in manual 1250/f8....one stroke of luck did have the auto ISO on.

Hmmm, I actually forgot about using auto iso. That's probably one of the reasons my flight shots come out so dark. This is a nice Donny. They fly over my yard all the time but not that low.
