Coal Tit

Coal Tit (Periparus ater)

This was the best of a disappointing bunch. It's OK but I might have got better, the 700D being unusable for several seconds while it recovered from bursts of about 6 frames, and the bird wasn't going to hang about. Though a bad workman blames his tools, of course! Anyway, yesterday I upgraded to a 7D mark ii, so no more excuses. There will be a learning curve and sore eyes, so I'll probably be away from the Gallery for a while.

All that aside, thank you for your kind comments on my pictures, and good birding!

I think it is one fine image of this Coal Tit John. You are way too hard on yourself guy ;)

I like the pose, composition and setting for this, John.

A better image than I've ever got of a Coalie John (usually a mountain bird here, only coming down to lower altitudes in winter)! Enjoy the new 'toy', I look forward to seeing the results once you've got to grips with it!
