American Goldfinch (Spinus tristis)

Still very busy here getting ready to teach at a four day painting seminar and getting hundreds of tender plants cleaned up and back in the house for the winter. So, here is a photo from last May when our Goldfinches were in their fresh summer plumage. This beautiful fellow gave me some brilliant poses.

Wow, this is a definite wall hanger!!! Excellent unobstructed perch with a brilliant complimentary background. Superb focus, color, lighting, feather detail, and eye contact. Exceptional Deanne!!!

Very nice photo with such beautiful colors. Excelent sharpness too.

Thank you for sharing,
Cristian

Excellent. Nice rendering of the yellows. However, I think I would have used the 1Ds III on this, it has a larger bit-depth rate and 14 bit processing; it would handle the yellows better. My experience is that the APS-C sensors don't hankle colors in the warm hues as well as they should, though the 7D seems to be doing a better job than the previous Canon iterations. Good image :t: :t: :t:
