Mallard duckling-1 (Anas platyrhnchos)

Do n ot normally post 2 shots of the same species at the same time,but could not decide which of these shots I preferred,In this shot,I liked the reflection and the colours of the water.
Just hope Mr Heron does not fancy a late night snack!!!

Lovely close-up, Christine. It's the Gulls that take most of these at my local Reservoirs. The parents try to get from the bank to the island 100m away, and the Gulls pick off the Ducklings. Some parents do it each year; they don't seem to learn.
 
Great focus on this little fluffball. Nice eye contact too. Sure makes me feel for him should he become somebody's meal, but such is nature's way.
 
Don't this just make you want to pick this one up and cuddle it. Top shot my friend.
