You're all very kind with your comments. I have learned to get better DOF with this Sigma 150-600 lense and since using a gimbal, I have seen a great improvement of the keepers.
I have been fortunate to receive a lot of mentoring via Skype from a French Canadian living in Austria. Daniel has been very kind and supportive, I learned a lot from him.

Now about these snakes. This spring was not nearly as good as last year, the numbers were way down, but they never fail to give great poses, I love these little critters, they are the most curious animals and will explore the photographer once they accept your presence. It's easy to become totally engrossed and the photo op's are boundless.

Deerbird, thanks for your kind comments. A good lens and equally good subject makes it a lot easier. I can however see some room for improvement in focal quality in this shot. This is a female I'm almost sure as the females are much larger than the males. Another point of interest is they birth live young, not sure how many is a typical clutch, bunch, squirm, whatever is the correct term

Frank I had to respond to your powerful one word comment (sincerely appreciated). MAGICAL describes these reptiles completely. They are very engaging, one can easily spend hours observing them and feel the time passed like minutes.
