Laughingthrush from
mighty Himalayas ...

A species of higher
altitude ... and
richer forests ...
it was indeed to have
a pair of them at
the water-bowl ...
kept at the forest edge
... at alt. 6500 ft.

It was at one time
placed in
the genus Garrulax
but following the
publication
of a comprehensive
molecular phylogenetic
study in 2018, it was
moved to be the
only species in the
resurrected genus
Grammatoptila ...
