Dark-eyed Junco
landed in the perfect spot on this gloomy day. The dark-eyed junco is a species of junco, a group of small, grayish New World sparrows. This bird is common across much of temperate North America.

Their breeding habitat is coniferous or mixed forest areas

This is so lovely it's a work of art. I'm especially fond of the species because it's one of the small number of American birds I've seen here in the UK. I don't think "small, grayish" quite does it justice! The grey and brown blend into each other, and the pinkish bill and legs complement those tones perfectly. And the entire image seems suffused with a delicate pink, while remaining true to the bird's colours. A wonderful image KC.
