Red-shouldered Hawk (Buteo lineatus lineatus) Perched in a green ash. Notice the feathers below its left foot. That is all that remains of a yellow-rumped warbler that it caught in flight. It ate feathers, bill, feet, bones, etc all within three minutes.
Habitat
Open woodland adjacent to an un-named creek that runs through the park at ca. 88 m (289 ft) elevation.

Camelot Park, Bryan, Brazos County, Texas, USA.

A wonderful image of a beautiful raptor. The dark eye lends it a "gentle" expression, notwithstanding the lethal bill and claws*. Superb work Stanley.

*Edit: and the remains of the Yellow-rumped! Which I'd have seen if I'd read the narrative first, as we always should.
