Rock Wren (Salpinctes obsoletus)

Exploring a rodent burrow, these tiny gray-brown birds are easy to overlook as they forage on rocks and bare dirt. This video shows the typical bobbing behavior of this species, the function of which appears to be unknown. This is the only member of the genus Salpinctes which is believed to be basal to the other members of the Wren family.

Oh that's a charming video you've taken of this wee wren Joe.
