The local Kestrel is always on the lookout for a free or easy meal, it had seen the Barn owl go down into the grass so it flew across to a nearby post to await its chance. As soon as the Owl emerged from the grass it was after it to try and relieve it of its prey only this time it was out of luck as the Owl had either failed to catch anything or had already eaten its catch.

Wow Geoff - never seen kleptoparacitism by a Kestrel on a Barn Owl or even an attempt. Brilliant and timely capture. Tfs.

Beautiful action capture Geoff...I have seen this a few times in Norfolk, but never close enough for a decent pic...Lucky you mate

What a stunning behavioural shot, Geoff, and interesting information.
