Brimstone Butterfly (Gonepteryx rhamni)

Legend has it that the name (Butter)fly came from the Brimstone Butterfly because the wing colouration is similar to that of butter. Probably just folklore, but an interesting thought.

Great macro Peter, and the colour of butter to-day differs considerably from freshly churned as it used to be !!
