Moorland Clouded Yellow with entourage
All nectaring on Common Valerian. I actually got what I think is a better shot of one of these, but I also wanted to share this one with the flies ... even though I have no idea what species those flies are. Typically this time of year at that elevation they'd be what we call "sweat flies" - small black flies that swarm around mammals to drink sweat. They don't bite, but can still drive you a bit crazy. These must have been something else, though, or else they were staying low in the vegetation due to the wind that day.
