(Common) Wood Pigeon
Another shot of a Woodpigeon drinking at the pool on our little substation roof. Previously it’s also attracted Blackbirds and Pied and Grey Wagtails. With luck, a Grey Wagtail could turn up any day now, though in some years we get none.

Thank you for your comments on my pictures, stay safe and well, and good birding!

Nice shot John. Love the reflection and the ripple from the bird's bill. A good photo like this demands a closer look at a very familiar bird. The blue greys and violets are lovely. TFS

wonderful portrait of this handsome pigeon, drinking its own reflections, John, superb colours and details, love it, many tfs!!

You would never know that's a puddle on a roof! The colours and detail are lovely as are the reflections. A wonderful capture.

Impressive close-up of this gorgeous Wood Pigeon drinking with a fantastic reflection. Outstanding work John!

A beautiful picture, John. I find it so difficult to get interesting shots of this very common bird, and you've succeeded. They always look so perfectly preened and photogenic, but you've managed to break the mould with this one. Many thanks!

LOL John, I wish I had a substation roof to overlook, though I do have a lean-to but it's not really a flat roof and there's no puddles on it!!

That's a right grand picture you've taken of this pigeon lad - thanks my friend.
