Lunch (Trogon elegans)

Not my best shot of an Elegant Trogon, but I like catching him with his lunch, a caterpillar in his mouth. I have a special affection for Trogon's as they are the bird that started me on my birding journey. The Elegant Trogon is large bird of Mexico, they stand about 12.5" and have a 16" wingspan. A few spots in my area are lucky to have the birds come up to nest each spring and summer.
