Common Darter

Common Darter (Sympetrum striolatum)

Posing nicely on the fence rail, so tried a hand held shot with my 55-300, not much leeway with the focus, as the wings are a tad out.

A lovely darter you've captured Mick. How nice it was of him to pose so handily for you.

Still good colours and detail, Mick. A much easier shot with cameras like my FZ150, as the F2.8 is equiv. to about F8 on a DSLR, so a wide depth of field. I'll have to start allowing for that shallower depth of field with the new camera
