Common Goldeneye (female) (Bucephala clangula)

Although Common Goldeneyes are a familiar winter bird along the rivers here in Ottawa, they are not easy to photograph as they usually stay far out from the shore. This female was in a small patch of open water with a large number of mallards, right to the shore. The path is about six feet above the water, so she didn't immediately fly off when I started photographing her.
