Common Grackle (Quiscalus quiscula)

They don't go to the feeders, and they won't perch prettily on a branch for me. They just zoom in from nowhere, land on the ground, and graze on sunflower seeds that other birds drop there.(So I started throwing some down in that area for them). Even on the wet soggy dead grass, they are quite a sight. So I won't complain too much and I'll happily snap away, because even though they are a common bird around here, I had very few visit my yard over the last few years.
Every time I see them the thought comes to my head that they look as shiny and sleek as a thoroughbred horse. Though their eyes always freak me out a little. lol!
