Common Gull
Common Gull (45-50mm).

I've just had time to go through some of the photos I took in June. Amongst them I found this Common Gull which is a lifer for me. On Taiwan we call this butterfly a "Common Gull" but in Hong Kong and Southern China an almost identical butterfly of the same genus (Cepora nerissa) is called "Common Gull." The joys of trying to find standard English names for East Asian butterflies. Well at least I know the scientific name is correct.
Habitat
Lowland forest, parks and gardens.
Location
Kenting National Park, Taiwan.
Date taken
15 June 2009
Scientific name
Cepora coronis
Equipment used
Sony DSC H5, Sony 1.7x con
A bonus to learn the name of the subject while enjoying viewing.

How nice that the hint of yellow on its shoulder blends in beautifully with its surroundings. A lovely capture Mark.
