Common Kestrel - Male (Falco tinnunculus)

Kestrels are winter visitors to Southern India and are very lovely birds. They hover about 5 meters over the ground and dive down on a prey.

Normally it is only the female of a Kestrel (Falco tinnunculus) which is quite co-operative with photographers and the males keep a very safe distance. However, this particular individual seemed to be quite co-operative and allowed me a few nice shots.
