Common Merganser (Mergus merganser)

Went for a walk this morning, and as I crossed a bridge over a small river, I noticed this flash of black and white on the water. Turned out to be a merganser. According to a bird book I have, they are quite a common bird, but I can honestly say this is the first one I ever remember seeing. It's certainly a lifer for me as far as getting a shot of one goes. Not a great quality shot(I had my iso in Aperture Priority set too low, so slow shutter speed) but this is all he gave me. As you can see by his look,he saw me when I saw him, I got this one snap at him, and then he took off up river and was gone around a bend before I could get another.
