This is actually the first time I've gotten close to a female merganser.
They're normally very shy at the river close to the hospital. However, at Leirfossen they seemed to follow around visitors for food. It was great to see how fabulous they are up close.

Yes... I bet it was. They're very shy here too, so I've not been that close to one.
