Common Yellowthroat Warbler (Geothlypis trichas)

While I was out for a walk yesterday, I heard this bird singing in the shrubbery beside the road. I could see his indistinct shape fluttering around deep in the foliage but there was just no photo opportunities. I spent 20 minutes or so standing there with my camera at the ready in case he decided to show himself. He finally popped out and I managed to grab a few shots before a passing car scared him back into hiding. These are supposedly a very common warbler but I don't see them all that often and they are very hard to photograph.

Your patience was rewarded, Bill. What a wonderfully colourful chap he is.

(Your comment about people and the gull to mali made me chuckle!)

He's beautiful Bill... and what a wonderful picture you've taken of him lad.

I love that natural framing too. Excellent work my friend. Many thanks for showing him to us.

Beautiful Bill...I really struggled to photograph one of these in PA...I ended up getting a pic into the sun, only about good enough for ID...Well done you.
